This symposium addresses progress in operando methodology by its interaction with two complementary fields such as computational chemistry and chemical engineering. Operando is now ranging from computer modelization, to understand structures and spectra during reaction, bringing the rationale behind structure-activity relationships, to chemical engineering, to apply operando to shaped catalysts for process control, monitoring and understanding. All this opens new frontiers; thus topics include but are not limited to: – Operando – Fundamental structure-activity relationships, the interface of operando with physical sciences – Engineering operando to larger scale, shaped catalyst’s and process control.
