La Junta de Gobierno de la SECAT, en su reunión de 25 de marzo de 2026, resuelve el III Concurso de vídeos de la SECAT "Catalyzing the future of ...", aimed at predoctoral research staff in training and partners. The purpose is to give visibility to the research work carried out in the different research groups that make up the Society. The aim is to bring the knowledge and scientific and technological advances of their research in the field of catalysis and its importance in the future of various sectors (energy, environment, materials, etc.) closer to the non-specialised public.

En este vídeo os cuento, de forma sencilla y visual, cómo funciona la difracción de electrones en 3D, una técnica que permite reconstruir la estructura cristalina de un material a partir de los diferentes patrones de difracción que se obtienen al ir girando un cristal. Una herramienta fascinante para entender mejor materiales de gran interés, como son los catalizadores.
