A predoctoral contract of 12-18 months (with the possibility of extension) at the Institute of Chemical Research (ITQ, UPV-CSIC) is offered as part of the project Magnetic and Plasmonic Catalysts for the Storage of Intermittent Energy (Power to gas; P2G)
The project will focus on the design and synthesis of silica-encapsulated metal catalysts of high stability, thermoactive in the presence of an oscillating magnetic field or a light source.
Requirements & Experience
Candidates must be in possession of a Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or any other related discipline. Those candidates who are in the final phase of their Master's degree will also be taken into consideration.
Previous experience in synthesis of air-sensitive compounds, materials characterization techniques (TEM, HRTEM, XRD and XPS), organometallic chemistry, metal nanoparticles and/or catalysis will be well valued, although not an essential requirement. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary and international environment, so they will need a good level of English.
