Javier García Martínez, from the University of Alicante and Member of SECAT has been awarded the Foundation Award King James I of New Technologies 2014 sponsored by the City Council of Valencia.
The jury of the King Jaime I Award in New Technologies has highlighted his pioneering work in the area of mesoporous zeolites, used for oil transformation, in which he has managed to increase the size of the pores in a way that allows the production of gasoline in current catalysts.
Dr. García Martínez is the founder of the company Rive Technology Inc., which has 40 employees for the commercialization of nanomaterials with energy uses. The catalysts manufactured at the Boston-based company have improved the production of liquid fuels, increasing profits for each barrel earned.
