Dear SECAT Partners,
We regret to inform you that yesterday, Tuesday the 7th, Professor Bernard Delmon passed away.
Professor Delmon has been a world leader in Catalysis with a very fruitful career and has collaborated with many scientists around the world and in particular with our Spanish scientific community.
In Spain there have been many "louvainers" (those who have worked in his laboratory in Louvain la-Neuve) and many more who have participated in the activities he initiated (the series of symposia on selective oxidation, preparation of catalysts, deactivation, etc.), without forgetting the publications he founded: Applied Catalysis, Catalysis Today, Studies in Surface Science and Catalysis...
European catalysis would not have been the same without Delmon.
