At the next SECAT General Assembly, within the framework of the SECAT'23 congress (Torremolinos- Málaga, 20-23 June 2023), elections will be held for:
- Governing Board: Vice-President (1) and half of the vowels (4)
- Representation in International Organizations: EFCATS (1) and FISOCAT (1)
- SECAT'25 Congress: Venue and organizers.
The deadline is Thursday May 18, 2023 (included), to submit applications (send them to secretaria@secat.es) according to the following information:
GOVERNING BOARD
Any member can apply for both positions. Each application must be signed by at least 15 partners.
Nominations for the renewal of the Governing Board may be proposed by a minimum of 15 partners or by the Governing Board. Candidacies will be open and the member may, therefore, present himself for all the positions to be renewed or only for one of them (Art. 6 regulations)
The Governing Board, at its meeting on 5 May 2023, presented the following candidates:
Vice presidency:
- Lázaro Muñoz, Jesús – CEPSA (re-election)
Vocals:
- Cauqui López, Miguel Ángel –UCA
- García García, Avelina –AU (re-election)
- Herguido Huerta, Javier – UNIZAR (re-election)
- López Fonseca, Rubén – UPV/EHU
REPRESENTATION IN INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
Any member with a minimum of 5 years may submit a candidacy, which must be signed by at least 15 partners.
Any SECAT member with at least Five years of membership to the Company provided that it is endorsed in its presentation by the signature of at least Fifteen partners of it. (Art. 10.4 regulations)
The call for the election of representatives will be published at the same time as the call for the renewal of positions of the Governing Board in the appropriate period, and the candidacy must comply with the same requirements as the former. If no candidate is presented, the The Board itself will make the proposal to be ratified by the General Assembly. (Art. 10.5 regulations)
The Governing Board, at its meeting on May 5, 2023, presented the following proposal:
- EFCATS: Ramírez Reina, Tomás – US
- FISOCAT: González Marcos, M.ª Pilar – UPV/EHU (interim since 26/10/2022)
SECAT'25 CONGRESS
Biennial meetings are organized and conducted by the group elected at the General Assembly from among those who have submitted their candidatures. The possibility of submitting nominations remains open until the deadline indicated.
The proposal must include: Organizing Committee, Meeting Motto, Date and Venue, Estimated Budget. (Art. 11.2 regulations)
The candidatures submitted will be debated at the Governing Board prior to the General Assembly and the selected ones will be made known to the Assembly by the corresponding applicant groups. (Art. 11.3 regulations)
The Governing Board, at a meeting held on 5 May 2023, gave the go-ahead to the following candidacy (the only one submitted to that date):
- MADRID'2025 – Alcalá de Henares (tentative). CMarking the 50th anniversary of the ICP-CSIC and the Research Center for CEPSA.
