The Governing Board of the Spanish Catalysis Society, as approved at the General Meeting of the Society held in Torremolinos on June 24, 2003 and ratified by the Governing Board on December 17, 2015, launches the Programme of Activities for the Promotion of Catalysis. Call 2016
The AWARD is announced for the Doctoral Thesis that a Specialized Commission considers most relevant of those presented by SECAT members during the year 2015 in any Spanish University, in the field of Catalysis.
Bases
Candidates: All those Doctoral Theses defended between January 1 and December 31, 2015 by student-members of SECAT on the date of presentation of the Thesis will be eligible for the awards.
Commission: The Prize Committee will be made up of 3 scientists from the field of Catalysis, members of SECAT, elected by the Governing Board, with no direct link to the candidates, with SECAT acting as Secretary of the Prize (which will not have a vote in the decision). The composition of the panel shall be public.
Presentation: To be eligible for the Award, it must be sent to the SECAT Secretariat (secretaria@secat.es) the Corresponding formtogether with a digital copy of the Doctoral Thesis, the accreditation of the grade obtained and the date of defense and a brief CV, before March 15, 2016 in pdf format.
Prize: The prize will consist of the invitation to present the most relevant work of the Thesis within the framework of SECAT'17, with the Society covering the costs of registration and accommodation to the Congress. Likewise, during the Congress, a Diploma and Special Mention will be awarded to the winner. The result will be communicated through the SECAT WEBSITE.
2.- Organization of Conferences, Courses and Activities for the Promotion of Catalysis
A period for submitting applications is now open to organise Conferences for the Dissemination of Catalysis, Advanced Courses and other activities with the main purpose of publicizing and disseminating the Catalysis organized by members of SECAT.
- Programme of Activities, detailing the events that will take place: seminars, exhibitions, conferences, etc.
- Detailed budget of the Conference, including the aid requested from SECAT and the aid that will be requested from other public and/or private organizations.
- Scholarship-Aid Program for SECAT members, dissemination and outreach.
- Detailed budget of the Course, including the aid that is requested from SECAT and the aid that will be requested from other public and/or private organizations.
- Estimated number of students, detailing the approximate percentage of SECAT student members.
- Scope of activities: who they are aimed at, means of dissemination, etc.
SECAT aims to promote the Mobility of Scholarship Holders and Students between laboratories of the Groups belonging to SECAT, granting grants to partially finance visits for research not eligible for funding by other programmes.
Bases
Candidates: Students and Scholarship Holders, not doctors, who meet the following requirements may apply for these grants:
– Be a member of SECAT for at least one year
– The scientist responsible for his/her work must be a member of SECAT
– The scientist in charge of the team in which the visit will be carried out must be a member of SECAT.
Stays: The stay must last a minimum of one week and take place throughout 2016.
Help: SECAT will evaluate each application and will grant a Travel Grant of up to €300 for the first week and up to €150 for an additional week; with a maximum of €750 per applicant per year; upon presentation of the justification of stay, which must contain a brief summary of the work carried out and the certification of the scientist responsible for the team where the stay has been carried out.
Documentation: To apply for the aid, the following documents must be submitted:
– Corresponding formwith a brief description of the work to be carried out in the Receiving Centre, with the approval of the Director of the work in the Sending Centre.
– Letter of Acceptance from the Director of the work at the Receiving Center.
Deadlines: This Call, by its nature, will remain open until September 30, 2016. The Governing Board will periodically evaluate the applications received, proceeding to notify the interested parties in the shortest possible time of the decision taken.
Submission of applications: The application and the rest of the documentation must be sent to the SECAT Secretariat (secretaria@secat.es) well in advance of the date on which the stay is to be carried out, to ensure that the request can be evaluated by the Governing Board in a reasonable time.
As part of the Programme of Activities for the Promotion of Catalysis, SECAT calls for a total of 10 INTRODUCTORY SCHOLARSHIPS TO RESEARCH IN THE AREA OF CATALYSIS.
Purpose of the call
The purpose of this call is to award 10 Scholarships of Introduction to Catalysis Research for students who are in the last year of Bachelor's, Bachelor's or Engineering degrees. The scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and in accordance with the principles of objectivity and publicity. The work plan of these grants will be developed in Research Centres or University Departments under the direction of PhD researchers, linked to them, who are members of the Spanish Catalysis Society for at least one year.
Application Deadline
Applications can be submitted until the day March 15, 2016, from the publication of this call on the SECAT website using the corresponding form.
Beneficiaries
University students who have passed at least 70% of the total credits required to obtain the degree and who are enrolled during the 2015/2016 academic year in a Spanish Faculty or Higher Technical School of University in a total number of credits sufficient to complete the total number of credits required to obtain the degree may apply for the scholarships. with the exception of the credits corresponding to the Final Degree Project or Final Degree Project in those degrees in which this is necessary.
Period and conditions of enjoyment
The scholarships will have a duration of THREE MONTHS and will be enjoyed between the months of June and October 2016, with a full-time dedication. They may be compatible with the enjoyment of other grants or research grants of similar characteristics.
Financial endowment
a) The total amount of each scholarship will be 900 €; in addition to the payment of the fee as SECAT Fellow member during the years 2016 and 2017.
b) Fifty percent of the total endowment of the scholarship will be paid to the beneficiary during the first month of enjoyment of the grant and the remaining fifty percent after receipt of the final report. The scholarship will not be considered as a salary or remuneration, but as financial aid for training.
c) The Centre where the beneficiary is going to carry out his/her work plan will be responsible for taking out an accident insurance policy for the beneficiary during the period of enjoyment of the scholarship.
Formalization of applications
The director of the work will be responsible for the correct formalization of the application. Applicants must correctly complete the application form available on the SECAT website through theCorresponding form.which will include accreditation by the Director of the Scholarship.
No more than one application per candidate and Director-Responsible for the Research-Training Grant will be admitted.
The application form will be sent through the website, including a single attached document in which the signatures of the applicant, the Director of Research and the Director of the Centre or Department appear with the Working Report (Work Plan) and the following digitized documents:
a) Copy of the Proof of identity (DNI or similar)
b) Personal Academic Certification which must include all the subjects and credits passed from the beginning of university studies until the date of the application and the average grade obtained, referring to the total number of credits or subjects passed. It must also include the subjects and the total number of credits in which the applicant is enrolled during the 2015/2016 academic year and the total number of credits necessary to obtain the degree of the university degree taken by the applicant.
In the event that the applicant has accessed a higher level cycle or degree from intermediate level studies, the average grade obtained in these intermediate level studies must appear in the academic certificate. Otherwise, the Academic Certificate corresponding to these intermediate level studies must also be attached.
c) Resume of the applicant.
All documents will be sent to SECAT (with a copy to the Director of the Scholarship) in SINGLE FILE and in PDF FORMAT, no other format being accepted.
Selection of candidates
The selection of candidates will be made by a commission ad hoc appointed by the President of SECAT. The committee will prepare a proposal for the award of scholarships and a complementary list of alternates in order of priority for the cases of resignation or non-incorporation of the beneficiaries.
The following criteria will be taken into account for the evaluation of the applications:
a) Academic record, Resume and Candidate's motivation letter (up to 8 points).
b) Work plan proposed by the Director of the Scholarship (up to 2 points).
Obligations of Fellows
The acceptance of the scholarship by the beneficiary implies that of the conditions set out in this call. Scholarship holders will be obliged to:
a) To join the centre indicated for the benefit of the grant on the date indicated in the notification of award.
b) Collaborate with the researcher assigned to him as Research Director, according to the research plan proposed by the latter, comply with the training programme and the calendar of activities derived from the above and adjust to the rules of organisation and operation of the centre where the work plan is to be carried out.
c) To carry out their work in the centre for which the grant has been awarded during the period of its duration, being necessary for any change of centre or Director, the authorisation of the Presidency of SECAT, which will decide in agreement with the Management of the corresponding centres.
d) The documentation must be sent by e-mail to the Secretariat of SECAT, secretaria@secat.es.
e) Submit prior to October 31, 2016 A descriptive report of the work carried out with a maximum length of 1000 words. The report must include the VºBº of the Director of Research. The digitized report must be sent by e-mail to the SECAT Secretariat. secretaria@secat.es.
f) To state in any publication that is a consequence of the activity carried out during the enjoyment of the scholarship, their status as a scholarship holder of the SECAT Scholarship Program for Introduction to Research in Catalysis.
Noncompliance
Failure to comply with the necessary requirements or obligations assumed as a result of the award of the grant may lead to the extinction of the right to use it or to the modification of the decision granting it and the reimbursement of the amounts received.
NOTIFICATION & PUBLISHING
The decision to grant the grants will be notified to the beneficiaries of the grants.
The List of selected candidates and alternates will be published only through the website of the SECAT (http://www.secat.es).
As part of the Programme of Activities for the Promotion of Catalysis, SECAT calls for a total of 10 SCHOLARSHIPS for the realization of MASTER'S DEGREE FINAL PROJECTS IN CATALYSIS.
Purpose of the call
The purpose of this call is to award 10 scholarships for students who are studying an official master's degree. The scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and in accordance with the principles of objectivity and publicity. The Master's Degree Final Project will be developed in the field of Catalysis in Research Centers or University Departments, with the director of the Master's Degree Final Project being a Member of the Spanish Society of Catalysis with a minimum of one year's seniority.
Application Deadline
Applications can be submitted until the day March 15, 2016, from the publication of this call on the SECAT website.
Beneficiaries
University students who are enrolled during the 2015/2016 academic year in an Official Master's Degree at a Spanish university may apply for the scholarships subject to this call.
Financial endowment
a) The total amount of each grant-grant will be €1,500. In addition, payment of the fee as fellow member of SECAT during the years 2016 and 2017.
b) Fifty percent of the total endowment of the scholarship will be paid to the beneficiary during the first month of enjoyment of the scholarship and the remaining fifty percent after receipt of the documentation accrediting having defended the Master's Degree Final Project.
The scholarship will not be considered as salary or remuneration, but as aid for training.
Formalization of applications
The director of the work will be responsible for the correct formalization of the application. Applicants must submit correctly completed the Application Form
No more than one application per candidate and Director-Responsible for the Research-Training Grant will be admitted.
The completed application form must be submitted through the application accompanied by the digitized documents indicated below and the proposed Work Plan:
a) Copy of the identity document.
b) Documentation accrediting that you are enrolled in an official master's degree, including the master's thesis.
c) Personal academic certificate of the degree that gives access to the master's degree in which the average grade obtained must appear.
d) Resume of the applicant.
All documents will be sent to SECAT (with a copy to the Director of the SCHOLARSHIP) in a SINGLE FILE and in PDF format, no other format will be accepted.
Conditions of enjoyment
These grants are not compatible with the enjoyment of other scholarships, contracts or research grants.
Selection of candidates
The selection of candidates will be made by a commission ad hoc appointed by the President of SECAT. The committee will prepare a proposal for the award of scholarships and a complementary list of alternates in order of priority for the cases of resignation or non-incorporation of the beneficiaries.
The following criteria will be taken into account for the evaluation of the applications:
a) Academic record and Resume (up to 8 points).
b) Work plan proposed by the Director of the Scholarship (up to 2 points).
Obligations of beneficiaries
The acceptance of the aid implies that the conditions set out in this call for applications are met. Beneficiaries will be obliged to:
a) To carry out the proposed work for which the aid has been granted, and the authorisation of the Presidency of SECAT is necessary for any change of centre or Director, which will decide in agreement with the Management of the corresponding centres.
b) The documentation must be sent by e-mail to the Secretariat of SECAT, secretaria@secat.es.
c) Submit before December 20, 2016, i) an electronic copy of the Master's Thesis Report, ii) a document accrediting defense and qualification and iii) as well as a descriptive report of the training work with a maximum length of 500 words. The report must include the VºBº of the Director of Research. The digitized report must be sent by email to the Secretariat of SECAT, secretaria@secat.es.
d) To state in the Master's Thesis Report and in any publication/dissemination that is a consequence of the activity carried out during the enjoyment of the scholarship, their gratitude to the Programme of Activities for the Promotion of Catalysis of SECAT for the realization of Master's Degree Final Projects in Catalysis.
Noncompliance
Failure to comply with the necessary requirements or obligations assumed as a result of the award of the grant may lead to the extinction of the right to use it or to the modification of the decision granting it and the reimbursement of the amounts received.
Notification and publication
The decision to grant the grants will be notified to the beneficiaries of the grants.
