1.- Thesis Awards 2017
ThePRIZE for the Doctoral Thesisthat a Specialized Commission considers more relevant than those presented by SECAT members during the year 2017 in any Spanish University, in the field of Catalysis.
Bases:
Candidates: All those Doctoral Theses defended between theJanuary 1 and December 31, 2017by student-members of SECAT on the date of presentation of the Thesis.
Commission: The Prize Committee will be made up of 3 scientists from the field of Catalysis, members of SECAT, elected by the Governing Board, with no direct link to the candidates, acting as Secretary of the same by SECAT (who will not have a vote in the decision). The composition of the panel shall be public.
Presentation: To be eligible for the Award, it must be sent to the SECAT Secretariatusing the appropriate formtogether with a digital copy of the Doctoral Thesis, the accreditation of the qualification obtained and the date of defence and a brief CV, before theMarch 2, 2018in PDF format.
Prize: The prize will consist of the invitation to present the most relevant work of the Thesis within the framework of SECAT'19, with the Society covering the costs of registration and accommodation to the Congress. Likewise, during the Congress, a Diploma and Special Mention will be awarded to the winner. The result will be communicated through the SECAT website.
2.- Organization of Conferences, Conferences, Courses and Activities for the Promotion of Catalysis Catalysis
A period for submitting applications is now open to organize Conferences for the Dissemination of Catalysis, Advanced Courses and other activities with the main purpose of publicizing and disseminating Catalysis organized by SECAT members.
Bases
Requests: SECAT members who wish to do so with more than one year's seniority in SECAT may apply for partial funding, providing the following documentation:

-Course program, including activities that can be carried out in parallel: internships, seminars, exhibitions, conferences, etc.
-Detailed budget of the Course, including the aid requested from SECAT and the aid that will be requested from other public and/or private bodies.
-Estimated number of students, detailing the approximate percentage of SECAT member students.
-Scope of the activities: who they are aimed at, means of dissemination, etc.
Organization of other activitiesfor the promotion of Catalysis not included in the previous points, organized by SECAT partners.
Realization: This call refers to any activity that takes place from the date of the call until theOctober 31, 2018.
Application Deadline: The digitized documentation must be sent to the SECAT Secretariat using theCorresponding form, at least one month before the start of the conference.
Evaluation and Resolution: The SECAT Governing Board will evaluate the applications received and decide on funding, up to a maximum of 60% of the budget submitted; never exceeding the amount of €1,000. The Board's decision will be announced as soon as possible.
3.- Mobility Program
SECAT aims to promote the mobility of Fellows and Students between laboratories of the Groups belonging to SECAT, granting grants to partially finance visits for research not eligible for funding by other programmes.
Bases
Candidates: Students and Scholarship holders, not PhDs, who meet the following requirements will be eligible for these grants:
-Be a member of SECAT for at least one year
-The scientist responsible for his work must be a member of SECAT
-The scientist responsible for the team in which you are going to make the visit must be a member of SECAT
-The stay must be of a minimum duration of one week and must be carried out throughout the year 2018.
Help: SECAT will evaluate each application and grant a Travel Grant of up to €300 for the first week and up to €150 per additional week; with a maximum of €750 per applicant per year; upon presentation of the justification of the stay, which must contain a brief summary of the work carried out and the certification of the scientist responsible for the team where the stay has been carried out.
Documentation: To apply for the grant, the following documents must be submitted:
Corresponding form, with a brief description of the work to be carried out at the Receiving Centre, with the Approval of the Director of the work at the Sending Centre.
Letter of Acceptance from the Director of the work at the Receiving Center.
Deadlines: This Call, by its nature, will remain open untilSeptember 2018. The Governing Board will periodically evaluate the applications received, proceeding to notify the interested parties in the shortest possible time of the decision taken.
Submission of applications: The application and other documentation must be sent to the SECAT Secretariat well in advance of the date on which the stay is to be carried out, to ensure that the application can be evaluated by the Governing Board in a reasonable time.
4.- SECAT-Introduction to Catalysis Research Scholarships INTRO-2018
As part of the Programme of Activities for the Promotion of Catalysis, SECAT calls for a total of10 INTRODUCTORY RESEARCH GRANTS IN THE AREA OF CATALYSIS.
Purpose of the call
The purpose of this call is to award 10 Scholarships for Introduction to Research in Catalysis for students who are in the last year of their Bachelor's, Bachelor's or Engineering degree. The scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and in accordance with the principles of objectivity and publicity. The work plan of these grants will be developed in Research Centres or University Departments, under the direction of researchers on their staff who are members of the Spanish Catalysis Society for at least one year.
Application Deadline
Applications can be submitted until the day March 2, 2018, as of the publication of this call on the SECAT website (http://www.secat.es/noticias/actividades)
Beneficiaries
University students who have passed at least 70% of the total credits required to obtain the degree and who are enrolled during the 2017/2018 academic year in a Spanish Faculty or Higher Technical School in a total number of credits sufficient to complete the total number of credits required to obtain the degree may apply for the scholarships. with the exception of the credits corresponding to the Final Degree Project or Final Degree Project in those degrees in which this is necessary.
Period and conditions of enjoyment
The scholarships will have a duration ofTHREE MONTHSand will be enjoyed between the months of June and October 2018, with a full-time dedication. They may be compatible with the enjoyment of other grants or research grants of similar characteristics.
Financial endowment
- The total amount of each scholarship will be €900.
- Once granted, aid will be effective after the end of the activity, provided that it has been adequately justified.
- The Centre where the work plan is to be carried out will be responsible for taking out an accident insurance policy for the beneficiary during the period of enjoyment of the scholarship.
Formalization of applications
The director of the work will be responsible for the correct formalization of the application. Applicants must submit correctly completedThe Application Formavailable on the SECAT website in which the accreditation by the Director of the Scholarship will appear.
No more than one application per candidate and Director-Responsible for the Research-Training Grant will be admitted.
The completed application form with the signatures of the applicant, the Director of Research and the Director of the Centre or Department must be sent by email (secretaria@secat.es) and digitized documents:
- Copy of theProof of identity(DNI or similar)
- Personal Academic Certificationwhich must include all the subjects and credits passed from the beginning of university studies until the date of the application and the average grade obtained, referring to the total number of credits or subjects passed. Likewise, the subjects and the total number of credits in which the applicant is enrolled during the 2017/2018 academic year and the total number of credits necessary to obtain the degree of the university degree studied by the applicant must be listed.
In the event that the applicant has accessed a higher level cycle or degree from intermediate level studies, the average grade obtained in these intermediate level studies must appear in the academic certificate. Otherwise, the Academic Certificate corresponding to these intermediate level studies must also be attached. - Resumeof the applicant.

Selection of candidates
The selection of candidates will be carried out by an ad hoc commission appointed by the President of SECAT. The committee will prepare a proposal for the award of scholarships and a complementary list of alternates in order of priority for the cases of resignation or non-incorporation of the beneficiaries.
The following criteria will be taken into account for the evaluation of the applications:
- Academic record, Curriculum Vitae and Motivation Letter of the candidate (up to 8 points).
- Work plan proposed by the Director of the Fellowship and adaptation of the topic to the area of Catalysis (up to 2 points).
Obligations of Fellows
The acceptance of the scholarship by the beneficiary implies that of the conditions set out in this call. Scholarship holders will be obliged to:
- Join the centre indicated for the enjoyment of the scholarship on the date indicated in the notification of award.
- Collaborate with the researcher assigned as Director of Research, according to the research plan proposed by the latter, take advantage of the training program and the calendar of activities derived from the above and adjust to the rules of organization and operation of the center where the work plan is to be carried out.
- To carry out their work in the centre for which the grant has been awarded during the period of the grant, with the authorisation of the Presidency of the SECAT, which will decide in agreement with the Management of the corresponding centres, for any change of centre or Director, being necessary for any change of centre or Director.

Noncompliance
Failure to comply with the necessary requirements or obligations assumed as a result of the award of the grant may lead to the extinction of the right to use it or to the modification of the decision granting it and the reimbursement of the amounts received.
Notification and publication
The decision to grant the grants will be notified to the beneficiaries of the grants.

5.- SECAT Scholarships for the Master's Thesis in Catalysis
Within the Program of Activities for the Promotion of Catalysis, SECAT announces a total of 10 SCHOLARSHIPS to carry outMASTER'S THESIS IN CATALYSIS.
Purpose of the call
The purpose of this call is to award 10 scholarships for students who are studying an official master's degree. The scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and in accordance with the principles of objectivity and publicity. The Master's Degree Final Project will be developed in the field of Catalysis in Research Centres or University Departments, under the direction of researchers on its staff who are members of the Spanish Catalysis Society for at least one year.
Application Deadline
Applications can be submitted until the dayMarch 2, 2018, as of the publication of this call on the SECAT website.
Beneficiaries
University students who are enrolled during the 2017/2018 academic year in an Official Master's Degree at a Spanish university may apply for the scholarships subject to this call.
Financial endowment
- The total amount of each grant will be1.500 €.
- Once granted, grants will be effective at the end of the activity provided that they have been properly justified, after receipt of the documentation accrediting having defended the Final Project Máster.La scholarship will not be considered a salary or remuneration, but rather a training grant.

These grants are not compatible with the enjoyment of other scholarships, contracts or research grants.

- Submit before December 20, 2018, i) an electronic copy of the Master's Thesis Report, ii) document accrediting defense and qualification and iii) as well as a descriptive report of the work carried out with a maximum length of 500 words. The report must include the VºBº of the Director of Research. The digitized report must be sent by email to the Secretariat of SECAT, secretaria@secat.es.
- Record in any publication that is a consequence of the activity carried out during the enjoyment of the scholarship, their status as a scholarship holder of the SECAT Aid Program for the realization of Master's Thesis Final Projects in Catalysis.
