PhD offer, Catalysis Under the Microscope: Development of Electron Microscopy for Beam-Sensitive Nanoporous catalysts
The contract will be for a maximum of three years (2+1) to start the 1st of April 2024. I am currently seeking an individual with a master’s degree and a background in Chemistry, Material Science, Physics, or a related field.
The prospective candidate will be engaged in electron microscopy applied to porous catalysts, with the opportunity to pursue a Ph.D. We will focus on materials for energy production from alternative sources, employing cutting-edge electron microscopy methods based on ptychography and artificial intelligence. The position will include short stays at University of Alcala and ShanghaiTech University (China).
Duties: The main role of this position will be developing electron microscopy methods for the analysis of beam sensitive materials. This includes experimental data acquisition and the development of computational methods for image reconstruction.
Prior knowledge on electron microscopy, computer programming or synthesis of zeolites are desirable.
The candidate will be part of The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), https://www.csic.es/en/csic, top research institution worldwide and the research will be primarily carried out at the Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón (INMA) at the city of Zaragoza, Spain, https://inma.unizar-csic.es/en/home/.
